Catch up session! and tea time

Casual meet up and catch up sessions with my old high school classmates. Had a general tea time of cakes and tea at Delicious, Sunway Pyramid.

No biggie chunks of reviews or anything, but here pics of snacks taken by yours truly: Red Velvet cake, macaroons, regular English breakfast tea, and well, humans, if you're cannibal.

Teh Tarik Place

Went to IOI Mall with my parents, thought we would have some local delight as brunch, therefore we all agreed on trying out this kopitiam type of restaurant, the Teh Tarik Place. There's another branch available at Sunway Pyramid too.

What drinks would you ordered at a teh tarik place, teh tarik of course.

My dad ordered nasi lemak with fried chicken, same goes to me but I took it with rendang chicken. It was really tasty!

My mom ordered Nasi Kerabu. had a few tries, amazing tastes too.

Overall, I have an awesome dining experience here, will definitely come over again to try out some other food drinks around here.

snacking at Monster Bites

There's a new Subway in town! well, in my opinion that is.
MONSTER BITES is a cool spot for me and my friends to get a sandwich bite or lunch over at since it's located close to my college area.

It has some seriously amazing sandwiches, and in that case I am showing you my personal favourite ones.

This Lemongrass Chicken Sandwich's filled with tons of crispy juicy lettuces or sorts of other vege, including some of that chinese parsley and a few slightly spicy jalapeno. The chicken meat was well-marinated with lemongrass and a hint of lemon-y inside. If you love sweet and sour vegetables like me, this is probably one of the best I'd said. Don't go for it if you hate veges tho, i'm serious, there's tons of it.

I also had their tea time offer Cappucino drink with small sponge cakes for RM5.50. The cake's a little hard but the coffee is pretty good.

Pretty much my lunch after college!

If you happened to drop by Jaya One, please do try their many varieties of sandwiches, fried chicken and fries! Also there's free wifi!

Whaddup Bane

I just did a collage for step-by-step colouring tutorial of the character, Bane from the Dark Knight Rises:

I can't really say anything about it, but what I'm really advising about here is patience. Draw, paint and detail it layer by layer. Keep on going until it's perfect or satisfying for you. It doesn't matter if it takes hours or days. I'm not a very patient person myself, but trust me, it really works.

Getaway

Semester break is finally here, me and some college mates decided to chill. Loveliest way to enjoy for me was to take a dip in water, and thank god weathers today is great.

So much for extreme fun and games this afternoon, i scored some awesome souvenirs home, that is, leaving behind a tanned dry skin, and the coolest bruise ever.

That's all for today, bye!

preparing Spaghetti Aglio Olio

Last week, I tried making spaghetti Aglio Olio for my family, with the help of my sister of course. Spaghetti Aglio Olio basically means, spaghetti noodles with garlic and oil. We read some recipes off from the internet, and I found out that this dish is actually pretty easy to make!

What I Used:
-Olive Oil (Right here, I'm using extra virgin olive oil but i recommend a regular olive oil would do because sometimes extra virgin ones tasted abit too strong for this dish)
-Garlic ( I had at least 10-12 cloves of small garlic with me, cooked for 4 servings)
-Spaghetti Noodles (of course)
-Black Pepper
-Salt
-Chili Flakes ( i forgot to bought some from the groceries, yet i manage to found some extra Domino chili flake packs which is usable, but of course, original spices would be so much better)
-Parsley Flakes (freshly chopped Italian Parsley are recommended)
-White Button Mushrooms (I am a very inexperienced cooker therefore i bought straight up packed and cut mushrooms. Please do use the fresh ones than me)
-Butter (for mushroom, also optional)
-Parmesan Cheese (optional)

1. slice garlic to thin pieces (not dice or chop, just SLICE!)
2. cook spaghetti pasta (add a little salt to the water that's cooking the pasta
(Mushrooms here are optional. Because classic spaghetti aglio olio's very plain, i thought i should add in mushrooms. You can add in more stuff like bacon pieces, squids, ham etc.)
3. wash up your mushrooms, slice them if necessarily.
4. put a chunk of butter into your frying pan, stir it until it's pretty entirely melted.
5. throw in some garlic, and then your mushrooms.
6. cook em for a while, then add salt & black pepper to taste.

7.Put mushrooms aside. drain your noodles aside too when cooked.
8. Now to prep up my olive and oil, I poured almost, like a cup of olive oil into my pot.
9. When oil starts heating up, throw in your sliced garlic. Your heat should be at least medium-low, so that you won't overcooked your garlic all of the sudden.
10. Garlic looks almost golden browned when cooked. At that time, throw in a some spaghetti water (the water you cooked your pasta in) to slow down the cooking process of the garlic.
11. With this you can straightaway pour the garlic olive oil into your spaghetti. throw in some mushrooms, and that little melted butter you cooked your mushrooms with. Put in chili flakes and parsley. Then add more black pepper and salt to taste. Add in parmesan cheese if you want to. Mix everything evenly then you're ready to serve!

Personally I think my noodles are a little overcooked, therefore it kinda splits easily when mixed with garlic and oil. But it wasn't that bad!

Looking forward to cook more pasta dishes by the way.

UK invasion!

As we all know, the London Olympics 2012 aired recently few days ago was a sensational blast.
So here I'm revealing my personal favourite moments/highlights during the ceremony:

Rowan Atkinson aka "Mr Bean" playing in an orchestra (VIDEO)

Voldemort and JK Rowling appearance! (source)

Last but not least, James Bond parachuting with Queen Elizabeth. I am actually more interested at this "not amused/bored queen at the Olympics" meme. (source)

UK TAKING OVER!
Besides Olympics, there are so much things out there of  UK people/culture representing in a variety of entertainment zones lately this year,2012.

British SUPERHERO & SUPERVILLAINS

Andrew Garfield who plays Spiderman/Peter Parker, is not exactly fully a British man. Hes got a British mom, an American dad, and was born in Los Angeles. But then again, that half-British blood made him looked stunning in The Amazing Spiderman, so why not! He also plays in the hit film The Social Network and Never Let Me Go in 2010.
Tom Hiddleston plays Loki in the mega hit movie The Avengers. But even with his villainous acting skills,  he scored more fans than ever. And of course, a real sweet and nice person in real life.
Tom Hardy plays Bane in Dark Knight Rises, and although his mouth were covered and voices are pretty much filtered by a mask,  there's so much to love for him with both his sexy lips and accent in movies like Inception, and This Means War.

British MUSICIANS

Many MANY musicians and artists came from the UK, but let's all refer to what's sizzling this year from the UK. First of all, talented Adele who just won a series of awards. Her "Rolling Deep" song got her rolled right in to the mainstream musics. I mean, why not, when top charted songs like "Set Fire to the Rain" and "Someone Like You" gets stuck in your head for quite a long time.
Secondly, season's newest boy band One Direction from the UK stormed into worldwide charts in just a short time notice. Each members are finalists of The X-Factor music competition show. Their music "What Makes You Beautiful" and "One Thing" instantly turned them superstars, and got many fans especially female ones, swooning for them.
We've also got Jessie J, an English singer and songwriter. Jessie used to write songs and record labels since 2006, but her recent "Price Tag" got her name flying high to the music charts. One of her latest songs "Domino" and "Laserlights" featuring David Guetta.
The Wanted is also another British-Irish boy band that recently got one of their songs "Glad you Came" raised to top music charts. Their other song "Chasing the Sun" was used as soundtrack in the new 2012 movie Ice Age 4.

British YOUTUBERS
They've started youtubing since the very beginning but thought I would show you few of my favourite brit youtubers as this year i am also more aware and watching youtube videos.

British YOUTUBER (musician)
If you're updated watching MTV this month, noticed, there's a new singer in town. His name is Conor Maynard, with his hit pop songs "Can't Say No" and "Vegas Girl". Little did most people know, he came from the youtubes as well, also a Brit.

British setting video games - Assassin's Creed III

Not exactly British. Assassin's Creed 3 takes place in the American Revolution, and everything's more for America. But  what's more exciting and fun than setting yourself in to a world historical event involving British and Union Jack flags hanging throughout the towns in this game?
Assassin Creed 3 will be release on 30th October 2012 for PS3, XBOX, PC and WII U.
