Last Sunday I've joined some awesome people out on an adventure of shopping! and of course some yummies at Hokkaido Ichiba,The Garden
(pictures were taken using my mobile cuz I did not bring my dslr out)

Sweet boos before dinner was served:

As for appetizer, we had this weird gooey thing, doesn't look as fascinating as it taste. It's actually some "raw octopus marinated with wasabi sauce". As weird as it sounds, it taste really REALLY good! I'm not someone who's a huge fan of wasabi either, but hey I liked it a lot. It's a very small portion by the way. In my opinion, a little perfect exciting hors d'oeuvre to begin with!

As for main course, all 3 of us had some grilled chicken ramen of different flavoured soups which is shoyu soup, miso soup and spicy miso soup. Mines shoyu ramen, tastes are just okay. As for shoyu practically means soysauce, soup gets a little too salty and fulling if you drink too much.

We also had some soft shelled crabs. dipped in those vinegar-like sauce for some of that extra flavour boost. I felt that this is probably the highlight of our dishes, because it's really tasty! Only problem eating this was, that self consciousness feeling where your arteries getting socked badly. Yes I'm talking about the calories, watch out.

Kicked in some crepe dessert to end the meal. There are many flavours of crepe, but we go with the fruitiest one stuffed with peaces and cream as we're pretty full. Personally like it without the sorbet on top, didn't like to eat sorbets anyway.

Did not order sushi that, but I heard it's good cuz they shipped in fresh seafood every Tuesday and Friday, probably nice sushi. So do try them!

Hokkaido Ichiba's located on the top(3rd floor) of Garden, Mid Valley. Close to a few mobile phone booths and shops. Happy dining!

That German Bar

Hi there. So last few months I dined in with a few friends at this german restaurant bar here called Brotzeit, unfortunately I didn't have a blog back then but now that I do I'm gonna make like a simple review because the food there's awesome!

we ordered the original Munchner Lager, there are more fruity flavours over there you can choose.
Get yourself a German beer whenever you're in a german restaurant/bar. Taste of alcohol's pretty dilute with a little sense of sweetness behind. Therefore I recommend it if you're less likely an alcohol drinker, or it's your early experience with beer! (which is pretty much me)
There are SO MUCH MORE variety of beers or alcohol you can find from the menu which you can try!

Most of us ordered Ice Lemon Tea (which is very common) but just a lil FYI that it's not straight out of cans lemon tea which is good. Also you're suppose to pour melted sugar by yourself, that means you can adjust the sweetness level however you want.

WE ATE TOO MUCH POTATOES! (side dishes)
because most main courses are pretty expensive, we thought ordering a few (RM)9 platter of side dishes to help fill us up on the way. The problem is, we'd never thought their side dishes servings to be this HUGE! and coincidentally, most of us ordered variety of potatoes. Basically, we had mash potatoes, roast potatoes, potato salad, and  a macaroni dish.
Mash potatoes & Roast potatoes are delicious! sadly, Potato salad was a little dissapointing cuz the dressings tasted sour. Macaroni (in menu: Homemade butter Spatzle)'s very yummy too, but i thought maybe a little more pinch of salt would help. So far so good, except the potato salad.
(portions SUPER large! don't made the mistake of ordering too many! like us, unless you have many people)

Main course time! Who wouldn't forget, the famous German sausage.
Juicy thick meaty fresh sausage! Pork Curry Sausage (Currywurst), served with some amazing wedges. Sadly, did not take any pics of that dish so I picked it out from the restaurant's website menu!

My friend tried the Pork Medallion and I tasted a little of it too.
Goodness gracious, it's literally porkception, basically it's like some amazing grilled pork fillet wrapped in some pork bacon. Once again,I grab this out of their website again because I did not take full picture of the dish.

(Well actually I took a little part of out it. Should have been easily spotted without that stupid jug-like thing blocking out view!)

Don't forget our beloved pizza.
Portion is quite big, so if you're looking for a day to go without feeling too fulling, maybe some drinks/beers and this pizza would have been enough. Tastiness rating? cheesy, meaty, crispy out of pizza! Very delicious!

Realized we did not order their signature PORK KNUCKLES? that's because it was too pricey for us that particular day. But yes, you SHOULD TRY. I've tried once, at another german restaurant. Awesome juicy crispy honey-marinated pork skins, eat together with pork meat of course, I'll promise you that 5 seconds of heaven experience in your mouth.

Yes yes.
Please do try all signature German pork dishes, sausages, and beer.
Overall, in Brotzeit, food's definitely pricey firstly, but portion of every food here is very huge, so i guess that's fair and worth it all. Families are recommended to dine in here. And as for friends or couples who just wants to have a simple lunch/dinner here, I personally think sharing food will work so much better.

visit Brotzeit's website for more info!

Tea Time Snack!

Who wouldn't just love chillin' by an outdoor home sofa or a hot garden spot, reading your favourite book, with a slight sweet bite and sips of fragrant tea? Tea times are definitely a fun tasteful activity during your lazy weekend afternoons or just with your friends and families.

When mostly, I would prefer to eat some tea time snacks at home by buying and taking away some great buns or cakes from one of my most favourite pastry shop, at:
 R.T PASTRY HOUSE

The very first tea time snack that I recommend, or should I say, one of the most famous cakes from RT's
"Hokkaido Cake"
What I love: the sweet cold stingy sugar frosts on top that gets you excited when first placed underneath  your lip as you're about to bite. While you teeth right into the fresh soft cake, straight up, huge amount of milky cold custard cream starts oozing and gets all over your mouth!(that's what she said) messy, but very delicious! right after you ate one, you'll definitely crave for MORE!This is a MUST BUY cake from RT. Be sure to buy quick cuz it gets sold out pretty fast!

Next up's delicate from RT's this "Pale beige coloured bun" that looks something like this!
Somehow, I don't quite remember the name, but it has something to do with cheese and berries cuz that's its fillings! In the picture above, it looks quite like some sort of plain unattractive bun. So I cut it to half to show you it's cheese and berry fillings.

What I Love: Its aromatic bun first of all! don't judge the book by it's cover, the bun's actually fresh, soft, slightly glutinous and smells good as it was baked in with a few herbs.Creamy cheese taste's along with the berries inside, are both enough to create an entirely amazing delight-ness of both savoury and sweetness in your mouth!

There's also a green tea flavour of the exact same bun, except with red bean fillings instead. I haven't tried it yet, but just to let you know, if you're a green tea lover, why not?

I'd always loved to serve green tea or coffee with this:
"Korean Bun (Sesame Bun)"

What I Love: That really glutinous and spongy bread texture! Right after your first bite, you could almost
taste that strong sesame flavour coated all over the buns. The bun's almost so chewy, where you could taste a hint of sweet milkiness inside. You don't even need kaya, butter or anything else in the bun when serving. Its aromatics are strong enough to be quite fulling for tea time. Go ahead and try!

Finally, is this:
"Marble Cake"

My mom said that it tasted normal and nothing unique, but I personally think it tasted good.
What I Love: The freshness and simpleness of this cake! and that cold buttery cream in the middle, makes a great tea time snack. The cake tasted simple enough so it's not too fulling. Best served after slightly refrigerated in my opinion, with some milk tea or coffee to go with.

Besides these tea time snacks, there're also many much more savory freshly baked breads you can find at RT Pastry House that you can try. You could even find more liking behind this simple small bakery store, enjoy.
